Georgia Tech’s top tackler Kyle Efford will not play in Saturday’s game against No. 12 Notre Dame, according to ESPN.
Efford, a sophomore linebacker, led the Yellow Jackets (5-2) with a team-leading 52 tackles this season and played 352 snaps, second only to cornerback Ahhmari Harvey. . Efford (6-foot-2, 230 pounds) has played in every game at Tech this season, recording 10 tackles last week against North Carolina, his third double-digit tackle performance of the season.
Efford also had a team-high 81 stops in 2023. He has 3.5 tackles for loss and one sack this season, and is rated 11th overall among Tech defenders by Pro Football Focus.

Efford joins quarterback Haynes King, running back Trelane Maddox and tight end Ryland Gaudet as notable players who will miss Saturday’s game against the Fighting Irish.
Georgia Tech opened the season trailing Notre Dame by 8.5 points, but has since improved to a 14-point deficit.
The Yellow Jackets will host the Fighting Irish at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta starting at 3:30 p.m. The game will be broadcast on ESPN.
