Now that the NFL Week 6 games are over, we focus on the former Jackets’ impressive performances.
Former Tech running back Jordan Mason continues to make a name for himself as the San Francisco 49ers’ primary running back, gaining 73 yards on nine rushes, including a season-high 38 yards rushing. Through six games, Mason has already doubled his single-season rushing yards, ensuring a breakout year. The former Tech star ranks second in the NFL in total rushing yards (609 yards) and rushing yards per game (101.5 yards per game).
Former Jacket OG Shaq Mason had another strong week for the Texans, playing 95% of all offensive snaps en route to a 41-21 victory for the Texans. The 10-year veteran has been a cornerstone of the Texans’ offense, ranking fifth in the NFL in offensive snaps played (414) and allowing just two sacks through six games. The Texans finished the season with a record of 5 wins and 1 loss, placing them in first place in the AFC South.
Former Tech DE Keion White became a quiet superstar for the New England Patriots in his second season, totaling three tackles and two pass deflections this week. Through six games, White has already surpassed last year’s season in sacks, fumbles and solo tackles. The Patriots fall to 1-5 this weekend and will face the Jacksonville Jaguars in London as part of the NFL International Series.
