AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) – Three West Texas A&M University faculty members will present and discuss their research on women business leaders.
Her Business Story: Narratives of Women Business Leaders of the Texas Panhandle focuses on inspiring women interested in the business field.
Dr. Leslie Ramos Salazar, Dr. Jillian Williamson Yarbrough, and Dr. Elaina Cantrell Robinson will present their research findings.
The research team interviewed women leaders to learn about their challenges when owning companies and organizations.
“To really get to know this woman, to know their story, to know their background, to know what makes this woman successful, and to share that with women who are just starting out, who are questioning themselves, or who are next in line. It’s important to know how I can help other women who are thinking, “Well, what if I start a business?” ” said Dr. Leslie Ramos Salazar, Professor of Business Communication at WTAMU.
Teachers said the women were able to share a variety of resources and skills needed to succeed in rural areas.
“I think we are emerging from the pandemic, and as business professors, I think we are thinking about the opportunities that we can present,” said Dr. Jillian Williamson Yarbrough, Virginia Engler Professor of Management at WTAMU. said.
The trio won an Engler Social Impact Research grant to make this all possible. This grant will help fund projects that meet critical needs in the Texas Panhandle region.
The event will be held on October 23rd at 8:30am and reservations can be made here.
The event is free and open to the public.
