At the IFTM Top Lessa show for travel and tourism professionals held in Paris last week, Air France displayed its new “premium” seats on the stand. Premium, a cabin between economy and business on long-haul flights, was recently renamed to emphasize the high-end nature and quality of the products and services it offers.
Launched by Air France in 2009, the ‘Premium Economy’ class is now simply called ‘Premium’ to further enhance the unique characteristics of this spacious, intimate and comfortable journey. Premium is designed to help you get the most out of your trip with more privacy and is available across Air France’s fleet and long-haul network.
Premium cabins offer the latest models of reclining seats on select Boeing 777 and Airbus A350 aircraft. The backrest can be comfortably reclined up to 124 degrees*, and the width has been increased for improved comfort. The Traveler has 94 to 97 cm* of legroom and includes an adjustable footrest. The seat foam has also been redesigned with a herringbone weave for added softness.
Thanks to the gradual renovation of its travel cabin, Air France plans to offer “reclining” seats in almost 80% of its fleet by the end of 2025.
During your flight, you will have access to comfort kit exclusive to this cabin, noise-reducing headphones, and blankets and pillows to help you rest and enjoy your journey.
Each seat features a large 13.3-inch anti-glare 4K Ultra HD touchscreen with Bluetooth connectivity and over 1,500 hours of on-demand entertainment, including French productions. This screen also allows you to connect your personal device to use as a remote control and navigate through available programs*. A USB socket and Wi-Fi are also provided.
For even greater elegance, the cabin’s harmony has been revised and expressed in Air France’s signature color, navy blue, and the travel cabin’s special tone, horizon blue. The company’s signature accents can be found on headrests, cushions, blankets, toiletry bags, food trays and more.
French cuisine exclusive to this travel cabin
Our crew will welcome each guest with a glass of champagne as soon as they board the ship.
Air France provides each passenger with a complete ‘French’ meal consisting of an appetizer, an appetizer, two hot dishes of your choice, cheese and dessert, served with eco-designed tableware and stainless steel cutlery.
The premium menu was created by a Michelin-starred French chef. From November 2023, Frédéric Simonin, Michelin star and ‘Meilleur Ouvrier de France’, has signed two regularly changing hot dishes, including a vegetarian option. Chicken with peas in plum sauce, asparagus yolks with red onion compote, trophy pasta gratin with boletus and asparagus – these delicious dishes are from Paris, Pointe-à-Pitre, Fort-de-France, Cayenne and La Réunion. Available on flights. .
To prepare these recipes, Frédéric Simonin collaborated with Servair, the world leader in in-flight catering. In accordance with the company’s standards, we carefully select fresh, locally sourced, seasonal produce, 100% French meat, poultry, dairy products, eggs and sustainably sourced fish.
Air France plans to continue improving its restaurant offerings to further satisfy its premium customers. Our recently revamped selection of desserts will satisfy your sweet tooth, including crunchy vanilla cupcakes, Paris Brest cake, and chocolate Moelleux. And now, on flights of nine hours or longer, a new type of ice cream is being offered as part of the various in-flight meal services. Flavored with vanilla or milk chocolate and caramelized almonds, these ice cream sticks are handmade in Provence (France).
Throughout your trip, we offer a wide selection of hot and cold drinks, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic. In addition to Champagne, we also offer a new French wine and beer selection exclusive to this cabin. In spring 2025, Air France’s new chief sommelier, Xavier Tuizat, will present a completely revised list of French wines, champagnes and liqueurs.
