One of the most common questions agents ask us today is, “How do I get recommendations from AI?” As more buyers and sellers turn to AI platforms to find answers, they’re also turning to them to find agents.
The opportunity is huge, but most agents have no idea what the AI is actually looking for when it makes recommendations.
The good news is that AI recommendations are not as complex as many people think. In this article, we share seven tips that will help you identify what AI sees when it observes your business, uncover opportunities to strengthen your digital presence, and create a clear roadmap to becoming the most recommended AI agent in your market.
Start with an audit of your digital footprint
Before you can improve your visibility, you need to understand your current location. Most agents have never comprehensively examined how they appear on the internet. The reality is that AI is already forming an opinion about you based on your website, social media profiles, Google business profile, reviews, directory sites, and mentions online.
The first prompt is designed to audit all of these touchpoints and identify mismatched messages, missing authority signals, weak SEO opportunities, missing trust metrics, and gaps in local government positioning. Consider this audit as a starting point. You can’t improve what you don’t measure.
prompt:
We are a digital footprint and personal branding expert specializing in helping real estate agents grow their presence on AI-powered search and recommendation platforms. Audit my digital footprint in Google search results, my website, Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, Zillow, Realtor.com, Google Business Profile, and other public mentions online.
Please specify:
My messaging is inconsistent Lacking signals of authority Local SEO opportunities are weak Areas where I appear unclear or general Lacking trust metrics How to strengthen local government positioning
Then provide:
Step-by-step action plan Recommended keyword phrases Recommended authority-building content Backlink and citation ideas How to improve your online credibility with both consumers and AI platforms
Ask as many questions as you need in order to provide you with the best possible offer.
Optimize one of your most valuable assets: your Google Business Profile
One recurring theme in our AI recommendations is the importance of your Google Business Profile. Consumers are still Google agents. AI still references Google data. And Google reviews remain one of the most powerful trust signals available online.
This second prompt helps you identify weaknesses in your profile and also provides recommendations for categories, services, descriptions, reviews, content ideas, and ongoing posting strategies.
In my opinion, using this prompt to apply recommendations is one of the most profitable activities an agent can perform, as it enhances both the visibility of traditional search and the trustworthiness of AI.
prompt:
Act as a Google Business Profile optimization expert focused on helping real estate agents increase local visibility and improve AI recommendations.
Analyze my Google Business Profile and provide the following information:

Ask as many questions as you need to provide the best possible outcome.
Create a bio that AI can actually understand
Most real estate biographies are written to impress people. Unfortunately, many of them end up sounding exactly the same. AI is looking for something different. Clarity is required.
Companies want to know where you work, who you serve, what you specialize in, and why consumers trust you. The third prompt helps maintain consistency across all platforms while reinforcing authority and expertise. AI becomes more confident about who you are and what you do when it sees the same themes repeated across your website, social media channels, and Google Business Profile.
prompt:
Acts as a response engine optimization expert dedicated to helping real estate agents become more discovered and recommended by AI platforms.
Please rewrite my bio as follows.
Instagram LinkedIn Facebook Business Page YouTube My Website Homepage Google Business Profile

Discover the questions buyers and sellers are already asking
One of the biggest mistakes agents make when creating content is talking about what they want to talk about instead of what consumers actually want answered. The best content answers real questions.
In fact, most AI recommendations occur because the content provides a useful answer to a specific question. This prompt will help uncover common questions that buyers and sellers have in the marketplace, as well as the fears, frustrations, and motivations behind those questions.
Understanding what people are searching for makes content creation dramatically easier.
prompt:

Please specify:

Create content recommended by AI
Once you know the questions your consumers are asking, the next step is to figure out how to package those answers in a way that gains visibility.
Not all content works equally well.
Some content gets engagement. Some content builds trust. Some content is recommended.
This prompt helps you identify topics, formats, hooks, and emotional triggers that make your content more likely to be surfaced by algorithms and AI systems.
This prompt is the beginning of a strategy to replace guessing.

Reverse engineer what AI already trusts
One of my favorite exercises is to ask the AI who it already trusts and recommends. why? Because patterns leave clues. This prompt identifies agents who have already received visibility and analyzes their content, authority signals, posting strategies, and positioning. The goal is not to copy them. The goal is to understand what AI deems valuable so that you can build strategies that incorporate the same fundamental principles while remaining reliable.
Identify real estate agents in my market who appear to be well-known, trustworthy, or frequently recommended by AI-powered platforms.
analysis:

The agents that AI recommends in the future won’t get there by chance. They got there because they intentionally built trust, authority, and relevance online. The opportunities are huge, but fortunately, most agents haven’t started yet. This means there is still plenty of time to establish yourself as the first local expert recommended by AI.
The question is no longer whether consumers will use AI to find agents. The question is whether the AI will make recommendations at that time.
