CEO and coach Lori Mueller writes that success doesn’t come from automation. It is earned through every action, every relationship, and every moment of integrity.
Recently, I went through a huge change both personally and professionally after hiring a coach. That coach challenged me to do something seemingly simple but incredibly difficult: be intentional every day.
It’s not just business. In life. relationally. Physically. Mentally. economically.
Like many high-achieving professionals in the real estate industry, I had mastered productivity in finance. I worked hard. I served others exceptionally. I showed up in front of my clients, colleagues, and team.
But to be honest, I often put myself last.
My body received the leftovers. Between meetings, my spirituality was strained. My family, my spouse, children, and closest associates received whatever energy I had left at the end of the day.
This was the first time in my life that I intentionally took a step back from my work to assess who I was becoming, rather than what I was producing.
Because here is the truth. You cannot pour into others from an empty vessel.
Self-creation requires self-awareness
That pause created clarity. And the things I wasn’t doing and the truths I had ignored became clear to me.
Three basic principles stand out:
The stories we believe the most are the stories we tell the most. We always act in line with what we believe to be true. Even if we don’t consciously choose it, we are never without a story.
Those stories shape our actions. And our actions shape our results.
So I decided to rewrite my own.
The power of “full power”
Here is the story I have chosen and am living by today.
Because I invest in myself, I am better able to invest in others. I am constantly building multiple revenue streams through real estate, brand growth, and residual income rooted in service and value. I am fully committed to my business, my relationships, and my legacy. Even if it’s something that sets me apart. I take intentional steps every day toward the life I want for myself and my family.
Not someday. It’s not a convenient time. every day. Because results don’t come from intentions. They come from executions.
AI is a tool, not a captain
There is no doubt that artificial intelligence is transforming our industry. AI can streamline operations, automate non-revenue-generating tasks, enhance marketing, manage data, and create efficiencies unimaginable just a few years ago.
And we should accept that.
But this is a line we cannot cross. AI can help your business, but it cannot run your business on your behalf.
You still have to take the helm.
AI does not replace leadership. It is no substitute for discipline. It is not a substitute for daily action, relationship building, or purpose-driven work.
Technology can buy you time, but how you use that time determines your success.
Actions that matter make you stand out
All real estate professionals, whether brokers or agents, are business owners. And every business owner must ask themselves every day:
Will this action help my client? Will it help my family? Will it help my business? Will it help my long-term vision?
Because after all:
What you put up with is what you get. What you allow, you facilitate. What you reward gets repeated.
Independent professionals in this market aren’t waiting for tools, trends, or timing to save them. They are committed to the actions that matter: consistent, disciplined actions that are aligned with their purpose.
Purpose is the ultimate differentiator
I believe every action counts. I believe that every dream requires the ability to communicate and sell that vision to others. And I believe that leadership begins with personal responsibility.
Real estate is never a shortcut. It has always rewarded those who consistently and purposefully try to accomplish difficult things.
AI will continue to evolve. The market will change. The model will change.
But one thing remains the same. That means leaders who are committed to growth, people, and purpose will always rise. Because success is not automatic. That’s a good thing.
