TCU has recently been more aggressive in its recruitment efforts, including recruiting a large number of new employees. One of the recruits who earned an offer from the Horned Frogs has committed to Texas Tech University.
The prospect that Texas Tech has committed to and TCU has offered is Gil Jackson. Jackson is a three-star cornerback from Ridge Point High School in Missouri City, Texas (the same high school that wide receiver JP Richardson graduated from). He is a 2025 recruit and recently spoke with TCU On SI to learn more about the offer.
“This offer means a lot to me. TCU has been a school I’ve wanted to go to for a while, and now to have the opportunity to act on this offer means a lot to me. That is,” the Texas Tech commit told Killer. Frog. “The coaching staff has made it clear that I am their preferred recruit at this time, but the offer process has been longer because they want to make sure it is genuine.”
TCU isn’t recruiting many recruits, so if a recruit is recruited, the offer will mean something. The coach who provided perspective was defensive coordinator Andy Avalos. “Defensive coordinator Coach Andy Avalos is the one who told me I had an offer from TCU, along with Coach Juice Brown and Coach Sonny Dykes.”
He detailed what makes the current Horned Frogs unique in his recruiting efforts. “The competition and energy of the players that come to practice. The environment the school is in and the culture that the coaches bring and build. And as soon as I stepped on campus, they welcomed me into the family. He gave it to me.”
He recently visited Horned Frog with a friend. It will be interesting to see what happens next as the Horned Frogs look to stay on top in terms of getting Texas Tech commitments.
