RUSTON — The Louisiana Tech bowling team begins its NCAA portion of the schedule with a trip to the Sunshine State for Destination Orlando, hosted by Sacred Heart University at AMF Sky Lanes in Orlando, Florida.

The Bulldogs, ranked No. 7, have two wins in Southwest Collegiate Bowling Conference (SWIBC) I and II. Abby Leyendecker and Kylie Trexler were named tournament MVPs, with Leyendecker winning her first title and Trexler her second.
Tech gave it their all as a team through two tournaments and ran away with both titles. Seven Bulldogs finished the weekend with an individual average score of over 180, with Trexler beating Leyendecker with the highest average score of 206.111 to 206.1.
The tournament, featuring 12 of the top 25 teams and seven of the top 10 teams in the country, will give the young Bulldogs an early test while also giving them time to bond.
The tournament is divided into two 12-team pools, with each team playing against all 11 teams in the pool. Teams are then ranked based on total pins and placed in a two-of-seven-game bracket for Baker.
The Bulldogs are playing against Alabama State University, No. 2 Arkansas State University, Daeman University, Emmanual University, Florida A&M University, Monmouth University, No. 6 NCA&T University, No. 18 Sacred Heart University, No. 13 Tulane University, and No. 4 Vanderbilt University. are in the same pool.
They first play NCA&T, then play Alabama State, Daeman, Arkansas State and Monmouth on Friday. On Saturday, the Bulldogs will face FAMU, Emmanual, Vanderbilt, Tulane and Sacred Heat.
