What is the best advice you’ve ever received from your mentors and colleagues?
The best advice I received from my mentor early in my career is to “set the pace” for my clients. We have the unique privilege to support home buyers and sellers in what may be their biggest asset. To set the pace and tone of your transactions, you need to be aware of how you engage with your customers at every stage.
What do clients need to know before they can start a real estate transaction?
Real estate transactions are mostly experiences of high emotion and high stress. It’s definitely a bit stressful, but my job is to make the most informed decisions so that I can navigate the process as smoothly as possible.
What are too few agents that make their lives easier?
Hiring a real estate coach will dramatically change your business through accountability, focus and direction. I have been coached by the core for about two years and are constantly being challenged to improve the level of service I offer to my clients.
What should everyone do to make their lives and business better?
Let’s take the phone and talk to each other! We rely on email and text communication, but the most efficient and effective form of communication other than face-to-face is via telephone. The most successful people in the business know how to make impactful calls and do so frequently.
If you can do anything other than real estate, what is it and why?
If I can do anything other than real estate, I would like to go to law school. The complexity of the law and our legal system captivate me, and I admire the critical thinking, professional communication, and the decisions needed to become a successful lawyer.
