Who is Merv Griffin?
About 30 miles southeast of Palm Springs, California, is a massive 40-acre property once owned by media moguls and television hosts, and was responsible for creating classic games. And the Wheel of Fortune.
Known as “Desert Jewels,” the property is located next to the mountains of Santa Rosa and San Jacinto, and features seven different structures, including a total of 13 bedrooms and 12 bathrooms.
After sitting in the market for about 10 months for $36 million, it was temporarily removed from the market last week and relisted for $29.9 million. Agency Mauricio Umanski and Zach Goldsmith represent the La Quinta, California list.
The property’s main home spans 5,409 square feet and was originally built in 1986. Designed by WaldoFernandez, the home is a blend of Moroccan and modern California styles. Moroccan lamps, like ceramic tiles and marble floors, decorate many rooms and are decorated with intricate lattice screens that act as door and window coverings in various parts of the house.
The vast estate features 2.5 acres of lakes, orchards and elite equestrian facilities. The location is located across from the luxury country club Madison Club and Empire Polo Fields, in a major area for horses and golf enthusiasts who enjoy great amenities.
Another highlight of this property is the “very productive beverage wells” that have all water rights and serve the entire property, making it possible to use the city’s waters. There’s no need to rely on it.

Griffin owned the house from the time it was built until his death in 2007 at the age of 82. The property once spanned more than 240 acres, but while he was still alive, about 200 acres split to create the Master Plan Community Griffin Ranch. .
According to the Wall Street Journal, real estate investor Mark Majerovic was purchased in 2013 by real estate investor Mark Majerovic for $7 million. The property has been a favorite for many years at branded events such as Revolve Festival and Coachella’s Afterparties. The agency listed the property for $36 million last April, but now its price cut of $6 million has become healthy.
Griffin got a big break on TV while hosting a game show. Flav successfully improvised interviews with Paar, and ultimately Griffin landed more opportunities. He held his own talk show, the Merv Griffin Show, from 1965 to 1986.
