Jill’s Zeder Group has established itself as a powerhouse in the state of Florida, securing some of the biggest deals in the state and across the nation.
The multifamily team, which is based at Coldwell Banker Realty and consists of the Hertzberg, Evers and Zeders families, is also known for serving some of the most elite clients flocking to South Florida and Miami.
By the end of 2025, our 17-person agent team had generated more than $1.8 billion in sales. In 2024, the team achieved $1.85 billion in revenue, according to RealTrends rankings. That’s significantly more than any other team in the state of Florida. The only team in the state that came close was Robert Slack Real Estate Team, which closed $1.57 billion in deals. There are approximately 690 licensed agents. No other Florida teams tracked by RealTrends rankings made more than $1 billion that year. The Gills-Zeder Group was also the highest-earning large team in the country that year.
Not surprisingly, Jill’s Zeder Group regularly breaks market price records. These include the highest price record for a non-waterfront sale in Miami Beach, with a $13.35 million deal on La Gorce Island this summer, and the highest sale price per square foot on the island for a $12 million property this spring.
How does the team stay so far ahead of its peers? Mr. Inman interviewed one of the team’s key players, Broker Associate and “Jill” Jill Herzberg, to learn the secret to the team’s success. At the end of the day, it comes down to great teammates, client trust, and unrelenting dedication to the profession.
well executed team
Jill Hertzberg | Jill Zeder Group
Jills Zeder Group was born in 2019 when the dynamic duo of The Jills, led by Jil Hertzberg and Jill Eber, decided to team up with the Zeder Team, led by Judy Zeder. Members of the three families make up the backbone of the team. They also include Hertzberg’s children, Danny and Hilary. Ebel’s younger sister, Felice. and Zeder’s children, Kara and Nathan, and her daughter-in-law Meredith.
As a family-owned business, Hertzberg said his team members are extremely dedicated to its success.
“There’s nothing better than this because we go through hardships together, we help each other, and each of us sees things differently,” Hertzberg told Inman.
Because everyone is based throughout Miami, we are able to strategically divide and conquer when making deals, which is another of our team’s strengths.
“Eight of us have a unique ability to each take care of different areas of the city, which is great because people come to Miami and think of it as one area. But in reality, there are different types of situations and it’s actually different areas,” Hertzberg said. “If they start in Miami Beach but have young kids and want to be close to schools, they should probably be in the south where the schools are. That way they can always have boots on the ground and transfer and communicate with their partners no matter where they are. [client] They can get exactly what they want, and yet we are all experts in these fields. ”
As the team grows, Herzberg added, the company is looking to hire people who will increase the team’s skill level.
“You have to hire people who are better than you in the field you hired them for,” she said. “This is very important, because I couldn’t have done this alone. I’m counting on them, and they’re the best at what they do. You have to surround yourself with people you trust, who like you, and who are talented.”
Trust between client and agent
Staying in touch with clients is one way the team stays busy, Hertzberg told Inman. This helps keep your customers top of mind when they want to do business with you, and when others in your area want to do business with you.
“One person moves away, another person is given a name, another person is given a name, and year after year, that person grows,” Hertzberg said. “People are always on the move, and there’s a reason why they move to this city. Even if you’ve lived here all your life, you’ll be moving from house to apartment, apartment to house, waterfront to dry.”
All these long-term relationships are built on trust, she added.
Maintaining good relationships with other distributors in Miami and across the country is essential to doing good business, Herzberg said, noting that the team is “doing everything we can” to foster relationships with distributors in feeder markets. “We’re all trying to help each other,” she said.
Unwavering commitment
When working with high-end clients, Herzberg said it is imperative for the team to perform at its best. Because customers don’t want to waste their time.
“When you meet and communicate with these people, they can quickly tell if you really understand the market, if you’re returning calls quickly, and if you’re giving them all the information they need,” she says.
Agents on the team are also vigilant about staying on top of the market through reading, communicating with other agents and clients, attending open houses, and more.
“Like any business, you have to be fully invested and committed at all times, with no distinction between work and play,” Hertzberg said. “It’s your life. And so are all of us.”
The team, which kept up with the local news, learned a few years ago that Shaquille O’Neal was going to the Miami Heat. They tracked the NBA great and ultimately sold him a “huge” fortune, Hertzberg said. Now they count him as one of their loyal customers.
“That’s why you should read this book.” [Wall Street Journal]”You have to get national news to know who’s going to be here and when,” she added. Be prepared and excited about it. And when you get the opportunity to get in front of them, if you’re read and knowledgeable and know all the things that are on the market and things that aren’t on the market, you’re really ready to do it. ”
