Barcelona New Economy Week (BNEW) 2024, organized by the Barcelona Free Trade Zone Consortium (CZFB), will celebrate its fifth edition from October 7th to 10th at DFactory Barcelona, the international benchmark for Industry 4.0. On this occasion, the event will focus on innovations and trends in seven sectors considered key to the new economy: digital industries, mobility, sustainability, talent, health and, new this year, aviation.
Now in its fifth year, BNEW will feature 350 international speakers who will offer their experiences in around 100 panels, debates and sessions over four days. It offers a total of 140 hours of content, maintaining the hybrid format that was the hallmark of previous editions. All content will be streamed live through the event’s digital platform, with registration and session access available. Additionally, networking activities will be conducted both in-person and digitally to encourage interaction between participants.
Among the main novelties of this edition is the new vertical BNEW Aviation, which will address advances in aerospace production, air traffic management, carbon footprint reduction, space travel and advanced mobility challenges . BNEW Digital Industry has been one of the pillars of the event since its inception and explores the future of Industry 4.0, analyzing not only emerging technologies but also aspects such as law, data sovereignty, environmental impact and the empowerment of women in society. Regarding BNEW Mobility, this field will focus on the electrification of urban transport, connected and autonomous mobility, and the integration of artificial intelligence in traffic management. The program will include discussions on digital therapeutics, predictive models of epidemics, healthy aging, workforce retention, applications of artificial intelligence in health, and advances in next-generation medicines.
BNEW Sustainability focuses on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations 2030 Agenda and discusses topics such as energy transition, eco-architecture, sustainable design, food tech, and cooperative economics in river ecosystem restoration. I’ll take it up.
