After losing to Notre Dame last Saturday, Georgia Tech is back to work and preparing for Saturday’s matchup with Virginia Tech. With the win, the Yellow Jackets would earn a bowl berth for the second straight season and move to 6-3.
However, reaching 6 wins and 3 losses will not be easy. Virginia Tech may be 4-3, but they’ve played well in their last three games and still have a chance to advance to the ACC Championship. This game has a lot on the line for both teams and will be one of the biggest games in the ACC this weekend.
There are no changes to the depth chart from last week. Haynes King is still listed there, as are linebacker Kyle Efford and defensive back Rodney Shelley. Yellow Jackets head coach Brent Key said the following when asked today about King’s status heading into Saturday’s game:
“Okay, so Haynes is still living hand-to-mouth, okay? Mike told me before I got here that somebody had some information that said he wasn’t playing. There was one person in there. Yes, he prepares to eliminate him every day. ? No, I heard it from the horse’s mouth over there. ”
