Eve here. I don’t want to sound uncharacteristic. The Trump administration is full of ideologues who are out of touch with so many things that are going on in America, especially among the many communities that are voting for Trump, where farmers, peasants, and small businessmen have been whiplashed by tariffs and supply chain issues (I know people who have been able to tolerate affirmative tariffs have become able to tolerate Dralogs). Sy Hersh reported that Trump’s cognitive decline drove the level to which he could no longer read the room, and that that may apply to his team generally. The damage to the economy from tariffs (like the inflationary effect) is only now beginning to take hold. Growth is concentrated in AI, flagging the rest of the economy. Most importantly, Trump’s base is destroying his continued support for Israel, the wide-rectad belief that Israel’s fingerprints are on the murder of Charlie Kirk, and the wide-rectad belief that it is unfortunate for Epstein’s cover-up.
Another common problem is that the Trump team is good at breaking things, but not in current operations (witness its denialism regarding the “elimination” of Iran’s nuclear program and its ability to supply Ukraine). And another important part of the picture of denialism is the performance of Hagzes / Trump in front of the generals and flag officers, where Quantico backfired. John Helmer described how the Russian press saw this as troublingly similar to when Hitler required his troops to swear an oath of allegiance. Many detailed negative reactions from military YouTube channels (not the usual suspects).
Another factor currently working against Trump is the lack of trust in the orthodox media. The anomaly causes a lack of consensus offendi as a conspiracy theory. It could also hamper efforts to rally citizens against the “enemy,” as Hegseth sought to do. Look at anti-immigrants polled at about 60% before the election. Ice Raid and Artport are now disapproved by the majority.
But this team, if nothing else, is owned by hubris. So they could try bigger power grabs backed by force. Even if it fails, the damage could still be enormous in human and institutional terms.

I’d like to consider this quote from Ben Collins of The Onion:
Stephen Miller, quite clear [Kristi] Noem, [Pete] Higgs and Trump are trying to cause a civil war at this point. What’s interesting is that they want to do it now. Because even though they are unpopular, they seem to believe that this is what will make them the most popular again.
Is it true? Miller certainly wants war, at least. Unless Karl Biegel is right, Miller’s language shows that. For example (emphasis mine):
[This is] Legal riot. The president is the commander of the military, not a judge in Oregon. Law enforcement in Portland and Oregon, at the direction of local leaders, refused to assist ice officers facing relay terrorist attacks and threats to their lives. . This is an organized terrorist attack against the federal government and its offices, and the deployment of military forces is absolutely necessary to protect our personnel, our laws, our government, public order, and our republic.
“Legal insurrection…an organized terrorist attack against the federal government.” There’s a law against it. Another example, from Miller to Hannity:
The Democratic Party…is an entity dedicated to the defense of hardened criminals, gangbangers, illegal alien murderers and terrorists. The Democratic Party is not a political party. A domestic extremist organization.
Noem and Hegseth agree (see here and here) and seem happy to fight by his side, as commanders of government forces. Trump is also suffering:
[T]Hey, I’m totally throwing a brick through the window and into the car. It looks like a war zone. And I said, don’t let that happen again. Now if that happens, and I’m here to say it, you get out of that car and you can be whoever you want…
Last month, we signed an executive order to provide training for rapid reaction forces. This is going to be a big thing for the people in this room. [the Pentagon’s generals] Because it is an enemy from within and we must deal with it before it gets out of control.
Trump says he wants to use American cities as “training grounds for our military security forces.” On the surface, the context is “migrant invasion”, but ending the imagined “far left”, the permanent enemy and proxy of all opposition, is a real goal.
Hence the war SEM to start. There is rhetoric, boots on the ground, and no provocations that they do not provoke, like in the pre-war South (or the Israeli government). Lincoln said of the South that their goal was “Rule or Ruin.” Is that true for Miller and people like him today? Will Trump go along? Maybe; I have so far.
Why do it now?
Let’s go back to Ben Collins above (emphasis mine): “They want to do it now, Aben is Apol, but they believe this is the most popular.
I think that’s wrong. A more accurate statement would be “because this is the most power they’ve ever had.”
America’s hard rights have never been stronger. The feast is before them and everything is laid out. They have a president. They have Congress because they have Trump, the master blackmailer (look up “Men are fit to be slaves”). They have Roberts and most of his court. They finally have the power of the wallet and a crime without a price. They act like kings. Because they have the opposite of the timid trend end, they are tied up with their money and privilege, so they are afraid of offending (i.e. I will offend their donors).
And, people, the final disturbance? They are furious, but they do not rush to the streets in a way that disrupts the state. Shades of non-response to Bush vs. Gore – Allow OCD to own.
lebanon rebellion
Consider Lebanon. In 2019, people protested against new taxes, but the revolt quickly changed, protesting against the corruption of events, greed, self-dead immunity, and the sealed ruling class – the whole ugly pie. Their congregation captured it. كلنيعنيt – “means everything.” All of them go.
Protesters outside Beirut’s Riad Al Sol Square on October 19, 2019 (Wikipedia) The revolution was partially successful. It certainly put the elites on their heels (“all things all”) and caused a lot of good changes. (Revolutions cannot be completely successful; by virtue of the nature of states, they have built-in breakdowns. The only real rebellion is statelessness, but that’s a topic for later.)
american rebellion
The United States, by contrast, is different. Do people see masked police, thugs on the streets? A strong letter, silence or protest, and life goes on. (“The game has just begun. Look.”) No words matter.
This is nothing to get excited about. It is to explain. I’m pointing out Trump’s position – you have the power there. No one stands up with the power to prevent it. He is the battlefield. In the minds of the world’s mirrors – and there are many – the time to attack may be when the eser side is strongest.
Are you doing it or not?
Of course, this cool fizzle. The court could suspend Incron. The mayor could win. A war on protest may not metastasize Israel and immigration into the past. Trump returns below. If so, that’s a victory of sorts, but we won’t really go back. Like after 9/11, the country has changed.
But what if you want more right-wing insurrection power? If they wanted it all, now “all” SEMs are available, and now the Palantir-9/11 security state SEM was built for this? After all, Thiel of Palantir and others like him are clearly not fans of democracy, not many. A nation will not stand in rebellion against the nation.
So what does Miller want his winning finals to look like? They have their own army – Ice – which is deployed in the city. So far, the targets they attack and arrest are mostly immigrant appropriators and random opponents. War should be spreed.
Enter “Antifa” and NSPM-7. This is Trump’s security manifesto forbidding “anti-Americanism, anti-capitalism, anti-Christianity; support for the excesses of the U.S. government;
What do I need next? spark. Do they attack or eat because it is the scholars who are being attacked? Or do “unusual” subjects occur? In any case, they require climbing. Probably not now, but not for too long from now. Bush-Cheney, if they did Weset, martial law was early, at a time when passions were high and no one was well-fed. They went to Iraq instead.
We are not solidly grouted now and there will be no next Iraq. That war is here, not overseas. Will they launch it? It’s up to them.
