Check out the companies making headlines in the midday trading: GameStop – Memestock has risen by around 15%. On Tuesday, GameStop’s board announced it had unanimously approved plans to purchase Bitcoin with some of the company’s cash following a similar move by MicroStrategy. Dollar Tree – Discount retail chains have risen by more than 4% after Wednesday announced it would offload its family dollar business to a group of private equity investors for $1 billion. Playtika – Mobile Games stocks won over 22% after receiving a double upgrade to buy from Bank of America Performance. The bank said the company has high profitability in a “still growing” and “mature” industry. TotalEnergies SE – US stocks in French energy and oil companies rose more than 2% after Citi upgraded to buy. The company said the market could be underestimating the company’s potential volume and margin growth. Paychex – The stock rose approximately 4% after the company’s third quarter earnings results surpassed Wall Street estimates. Paychex posted an adjusted profit of $1.49 per share. However, revenues were in line with expectations of $1.51 billion. NVIDIA – AI Darling’s stock slipped over 5% amid a rapid sale of the technology name. The information technology sector fell by more than 1%. Alphabet and Amazon stocks fell by more than 1%, while Metaplatform lost nearly 2%. Tesla – The electric car maker’s stock pulled back more than 5% and put it at pace to get a five-day winning streak. The stock is still up over 16% over the past week. CINTAS – Stocks rose more than 6% after recording better revenue and revenue than expected for the third quarter. According to FactSet, CINTAS won $1.13 per share with revenues of $26.1 billion, while analysts supplied the pencil with revenues of $1.05 per share and $2.6 billion. Boundary Solution – Fire extinguishing agent manufacturers spiked 12% on the back of UBS upgrades and purchased from Neutral.
