Elon Musk on Saturday pledged that his pro-Trump America PAC would give away $1 million every day to petition signers until Election Day, but Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro He called the matter “extremely worrying” and called for legal scrutiny.
Shapiro made the comments during an appearance on NBC’s “Meet the Press” Sunday morning, a day after Musk attended a pro-Trump rally in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
Asked if he thought the gift was legal, Shapiro, the former attorney general, said the real question was “how to do it.” [Musk] is spending money on this race, and it appears that dark money is now flowing into the pockets of Pennsylvanians, not just Pennsylvania.”
“That’s very concerning. Mr. Musk is clearly entitled to express his opinion. He has made it clear that he supports Donald Trump. I don’t – -Obviously, we have disagreements,” Shapiro said. “I don’t deny that he is, but I think when you start funneling this kind of money into politics, it raises serious questions that people might want to consider.”

Shapiro declined to say whether he thought the petition was legal, saying only that “this is something that law enforcement may consider” and “raises some serious questions.” Ta.

The first $1 million award went to John Dreher, who calls himself a “huge fan” of Mr. Musk.

Musk was the sole donor to America PAC, giving about $75 million from July to September, according to Federal Election Commission (FEC) filings. The PAC spent about $72 million during that period, according to disclosures.

America PAC is asking 1 million voters in Pennsylvania and other battleground states of Georgia, Nevada, Arizona, Michigan, Wisconsin and North Carolina to vote on the First Amendment and the Constitution by October 21st. The goal was to get people to sign a petition in support of Article 2.
