CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – The Hokies (7-12, 1-8 ACC) lost to Boston College (9-12, 2-7 ACC) in three sets (24-26, 17-25, 23-25) on Friday. Ta. afternoon.
how did it happen
The Hokies and Eagles battled it out in the first set. Boston College grabbed an advantage late in the set, but Tech rallied from a six-point deficit to tie the set at 24-24. The Hokies scored the next point, but an ill-timed challenge changed the course of VT, reversing the score and giving BC the lead. Boston College secured the first set 26-24.
In the second set, standout Jasmine Robinson stole the show. The middle blocker had nine kills in her first 10 swings and was hitting .583 after the second set. Her five kills in the second set were the most in a set for a redshirt junior this season. In the end, VT lost the second set 17-25.
The third set highlighted Jordan Hallman’s abilities, with the junior blocker boasting three block assists and one block solo. Despite a battle in the third set, the Hokies were unable to gain an advantage and fell behind 23-25.

Jasmine Robinson led the offensive line with a career-high 11 kills, two aces, one block assist and a .533 batting average. Jordan Hallman had six blocks, one solo and five assists, marking his seventh game this season with five or more blocks. Victoria Wahlgren totaled 18 assists with one ace, four digs, and one block solo, and Erika Dereski had one ace, 11 assists, and one dig. Bell Patrick followed Robinson’s attack with eight kills and four digs at a .238 clip. Leandra Mangal Duran had a perfect reception in her 12th game, totaling 15 and 13 digs. Tech totaled 35 kills, 32 assists, 30 digs, 12 blocks and six aces.
