BERGENFIELD, NJ — Today, October 18, 2024, U.S. Representative Josh Gottheimer (NJ-5) will host a roundtable discussion with women business owners and leaders from across New Jersey to encourage small businesses and entrepreneurs. Ensuring Equal Pay for Equal Work: Mr. Gottheimer supported and helped pass the Paycheck Fairness Act to close the persistent income gap between men and women. She also helped lead a resolution recognizing the importance of the gender pay gap. Expanding Access to Capital: Gottheimer helped develop and pass the American Rescue Plan, which required the Small Business Administration to implement state small business credit initiatives. SSBCI will provide $10 billion to states such as Jersey to expand access to capital for small business owners. Mr. Gottheimer also helped lead the Small Business Energy Financing Enhancement Act and the Small Business Child Care Investment Act, which made it easier for new businesses in the energy and child care sectors to obtain SBA financing, respectively. Finally, Congressman Gottheimer announced during the roundtable that he has joined the Women’s Business Center Improvement Act, which would expand funding to SBA Women’s Business Centers across the country that provide training and loan counseling to women business owners. did. Making Child Care More Affordable: Rep. Gottheimer recently announced legislation that would lower tuition fees for early childhood learning and education outside of Little Learners Childcare Centers. The LITTLE Act expands the Child Tax Credit and lowers the barrier for entrepreneurs to offer families more child care options. Helping lower taxes and eliminate red tape: Gottheimer continues to fight to fully restore the State and Local Tax Credit (SALT) to make living in Jersey more affordable.
