on the road

Just imagine. You’re sitting in traffic and you don’t know who or what is holding you back. So we deploy the car’s drone to see what’s on the road ahead. If this sounds like a scene from a futuristic James Bond-esque movie, think again.
London-based Business Insider reporter Tom Carter had a chance to see Chinese automaker BYD’s latest technologically advanced car at the Paris Motor Show earlier this week.
The seven cars they unveiled included the Yangwang U8, a hybrid luxury SUV that is equipped with a drone and can rotate like a tank and float on water.
It is currently only sold in China, but it made its European debut at the show despite plans for the European Union to impose tough tariffs on Chinese-made electric cars.
European manufacturers are trying to take back some of the electric vehicle market share from Chinese competitors. Besides tariffs, another way to do that is through partnerships.
That’s what happened when Stellantis, the parent company of Jeep, Ram and Fiat, partnered with Leap Motors to sell EVs outside of China. “For us, the best way to immediately compete with the Chinese was to jump on their train, not get hit by it,” Carlos Tavares, speaking at a nearby auto summit, said Tuesday. said.

Located in the foothills of the Teton Mountains, Jackson Hole, Wyoming is one of the wealthiest counties in the country. With its mountain views and low taxes, the area attracts millennial DINKs and A-listers alike.
It’s also the most economically unequal place in the United States. According to the Economic Policy Institute, the top 1% of residents in metropolitan areas earn 132 times more than the bottom 99% of residents. BI’s Joey Hadden visited Jackson Hole to find out why it’s so coveted.
This is what she found.

A new way to the airport

New York City has added new transportation options. On October 8, Uber launched an $18 shuttle service between its three Manhattan locations and LaGuardia Airport. This could potentially reduce the expensive transportation costs and complicated subway transfers that were previously required when traveling to LGA.
However, not everyone is happy with this move. Some people accused ride-sharing apps of rebranding traditional bus services to raise prices. But many others who have tried it, including BI’s Priyanka Rajput, are excited that there is a cheaper alternative.

There’s a new longevity treatment in town.

Plasma exchange therapy is the latest health trend among CEOs, older athletes, and people seeking longevity. Typically used for patients with chronic illnesses, this procedure replaces blood plasma with another fluid to remove toxins.
Former NFL star Troy Aikman, who underwent the treatment, likened it to “an oil change for humans” and said it could actually extend longevity and benefit healthy people. Evidence is limited.
