Have you ever tried to use your electronic benefits transfer card to pay for groceries, only to find that your SNAP benefits were gone? You may have been a victim of EBT theft, too.
EBT theft occurs when someone is able to obtain information from your EBT card in order to steal your Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program benefits. You may not realize right away that you were robbed, only to find that the funds in your account are lower than they should be. If so, you’re not alone. This is a widespread problem that affects hundreds of thousands of SNAP recipients each year.
If you believe your benefits may have been stolen, please contact us. We need your help to understand how EBT theft impacts our community.
Please fill out the survey below to share your experience. Our reporters will read all responses and may follow up.
