Osama Saad El-Din, Secretary General of the Real Estate Development Chamber of the Federation of Egyptian Industries (FEI), announced the Chamber’s participation in the visit to Libya by an Egyptian delegation led by the Chamber.
During the visit, two memorandums of understanding (MoU) were signed between the Egyptian Federation of Industry and the Libyan Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry in Tripoli and Benghazi.
These memorandums were signed on the Egyptian side, on behalf of the Egyptian delegation, with Mr. Mohamed Elbahi and President of the Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry in Tripoli, and another memorandum was signed with the President of the Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry in Tripoli. , Benghazi industry, agriculture.
Saad El-Din explained that the purpose of these agreements is to strengthen cooperation and exchange of investment expertise between the Egyptian and Libyan sides, while promoting the participation of Egyptian companies in the reconstruction of Libya. .
He highlighted the valuable experience of Egyptian companies in various reconstruction specialties.
He further pointed out that the Egyptian delegation also included businessmen and directors of the FEI’s Chamber of Industry.
He pointed out that Egyptian real estate developers have promising expertise in realizing the integrated urban communities that Libya needs during its reconstruction phase. This includes building new cities and implementing comprehensive urban projects similar to those that Egyptian companies have successfully implemented in Egypt.
He emphasized that Egyptian companies have successfully collaborated with the government to build new cities, and that the private sector is an important partner in the development Egypt has seen over the past decade.
He also asserted that once the reconstruction plan begins, there will be great opportunities to export Egyptian building materials to the Libyan market, which will provide a close and large market for the export of Egyptian building materials.
He said that the participation of Egyptian companies from different sectors in the reconstruction of Libya is not only an investment role, but also an obligation of the people towards the brotherly country, which shares long-standing relations, the same language and mutual national security interests. he added. A request was therefore submitted to the Libyan Minister of Economy to review the investment plans that it seeks to implement and to determine a mechanism for the participation of Egyptian companies in their implementation.
He pointed out that the joint meeting was attended not only by representatives of the Libyan government, but also by the Egyptian Ambassador to Libya, Mr. Tamer El Hefni, and the Egyptian Consul in Libya on behalf of the Egyptian side. During the meeting, several requests were made by both sides. It called on the Egyptian side to facilitate the movement of Egyptian workers by simplifying procedures to facilitate the influx of thousands of Egyptian workers participating in the reconstruction plan.
He said the Libyan side had also been asked to take steps to enable the implementation of several urban projects for domestic and international customers. This includes promoting foreign ownership through the granting of usufruct rights and citizenship, which will enable the expansion of diverse projects that meet both local and global demands in Libya.
He said that he had received many inquiries regarding participation in Libya’s reconstruction, and that the Libyan side had promised to respond. The Egyptian delegation is keen to support this brotherly country and cooperate in the reconstruction process by offering Egypt’s vast expertise in development and construction, so we will hold a separate meeting to discuss and answer these questions. A meeting is scheduled to be held.
