For decades, Art Cashin, director of floor operations for the New York Stock Exchange at UBS, has been writing New Year’s poems reflecting on the year’s events. Following Mr Cassin’s death earlier this month, his sons Arthur and Peter paid tribute to their father:

Wall Street stood still in fear.
No more annual poems

Writing was his art.
