Google is rolling out a number of updates for Pixel watches, smartphones, and tablets. Previous models often come with new features, like Night Sight for Instagram, which is available on all Pixel 6 and newer devices, including A-series phones. This tool allows you to take photos directly on Instagram without worrying that the photos will be too dark. This may be ideal for people who want to take photos at concerts or parties without worrying about bright flash emissions. Other updates available for Pixel 6 and newer devices include Night Sight for astrophotography and theft protection.
The Anti-Theft feature, which is now available worldwide, is one of the most widespread updates and actually applies to all Android 10+ devices (Android 15 is rolling out today), not just Pixels. Applies to And later this year, Google plans to release ID Check, a feature that requires biometrics to access actions like changing your PIN and disabling anti-theft protection. This new feature includes tools like AI-powered Theft Detection Lock, which uses on-device machine learning to detect potential attempts to steal your device and automatically lock on. Additional features include remote locking and offline device locking, which allows you to seal your device with just a verified phone number. A complete overview of anti-theft can be found on the Android YouTube page.
Google released its latest lineup in August, the Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro XL, and Pixel 9 Pro, and some of its latest features are exclusive to Google. This is the case with the Gemini extension for screenshots. This tool allows you to type “OK Google” and get to the exact image you’re looking for. For example, you can say, “Hey Google, use my screenshot to find the red shirt I saved.” Plus, you can now capture better images and videos underwater with a waterproof case.

However, it later confirmed via Android reporter Mishaal Rahman that “Night Sight for Instagram is available on Pixel 6 and newer, including the A series.”
