Kuba Jewginiew, founder and CEO of Realty ONE Group, writes in this story of his professional journey that quiet beginnings can create great destiny.
We all start somewhere, usually uncertain and unproven, but determined to build the future we envision, long before the world sees it. That’s what real estate is. That’s life. It is a journey of faith, persistence, and taking action, even when the path is not clear.
My story is no different.
My parents immigrated to the United States from Poland with no English, no roadmap, and no guarantees, just to make sacrifices and pursue possibilities with a fierce work ethic and dreams that life could be better. They worked long hours, sometimes working multiple jobs, doing whatever was needed.
My grandmother raised me while they worked. I first spoke Polish and learned English when I was 6 years old. I was shy, quiet, always observant, and far from the kid you would expect to someday be connected to one of the fastest growing brands in real estate.
But sometimes quiet beginnings create great destiny.
The spark that turned into belief
When I was a teenager, my mother gave me a tape recording of Anthony Robbins’ books. I listened to it every day as I drove to school and work, and it planted seeds of belief, confidence, and possibility. I had no trust from the outside world. Instead, I revealed what was already inside me. And the fire began to grow.
new career
I moved to Las Vegas from California, didn’t know anyone, and was determined to become one of the most successful real estate professionals in the city. I had no real community or network of friends and certainly no leads. However, I had a vision for the future and my parents’ will to work hard for it.
I failed the real estate exam four times. The fifth time proved to be the charm, and that moment changed me forever. It taught me that failure is not the opposite of success. It’s just one step in the journey. And know that if I can fail four times and still win big, you can too.
shift
At my first brokerage, I had no training, no guidance, no support, no direction, no motivation. I switched to another brokerage company, but the situation was the same. Still, I was hungry and worked hard, never giving up.
The next step in my journey led me to Brian Buffini and his referral-based approach built on relationships, service, handwritten notes, phone calls, and pop-buys. It was the perfect approach for me because it’s built on relationships and relationships.
I fully implemented this approach and sold 111 homes the following year.
It was an interesting time in my life, having a young family and a baby on the way. I basically had to build my life from scratch, and I had to build it using an algorithm (success equals action and belief) to get it done.
The strength behind my journey
These two women formed the core of who I am and continue to do so. My mother modeled sacrifice, resilience, and work ethic, and these traits became the essence of who I am. My wife Luba continues to be my full-throated partner every season, sharing my dreams, every leap, every step.
There were two mentors who had an impact on my professional life. Tony Robbins inspired a transformation early in my career, and Brian Buffini gave me the system and roadmap to implement it.
Still, there was one more ingredient that only I could inject. I always had to show up and always, always bet on myself.
Building a global brand
What started with a handwritten note and an open house has now grown into more than a shy child could have imagined. Realty ONE Group International continues to open locations across the United States and has expanded its global footprint to nearly 30 countries in just over three years while working to find strategic partners around the world.
To every new agent, every dreamer, every immigrant family, every shy kid, everyone who failed before they succeeded, this message is for you.
If I can do it, so can you.
You don’t need a perfect start. You just have to believe in yourself, be courageous, show consistency, act on your dreams, conversations, relationships, and one step at a time.
Live in the future.
Act with courage.
And make your dreams wild!
