When I first started writing this article, I was ready to blame Kugman for not discussing this much more important economic limitation. I did a sub-research. Research was most useful when changing your mind, and my research changed my mind. Krugman has found himself good at building large costs in an economy that makes housing artificially expensive. Please quote the following from Kaplan, Build, Baby, Build, Krugman:
High home prices in slow-growing states ow a lot to policies that significantly limit construction. Limiting the height of CISIE buildings, zoning that blocks dense development in the suburbs, and zoning that involves other government bodies deflated housing on both coasts.
Krugman also said, “On the other hand, loose regulations in the South have lowered housing resilience and cost of living.”
Many economists criticize the building’s restrictions for their trust. However, they are less contested in Revenge than against these incredibly destructive restrictions and against low damages on international trade.
The above comes from my most generous Hoover article on 5 June 2025, Defense Ideas, “Housing restrictions were stronger than tariffs” and “Housing restrictions were tough.”
