What you need to know
Verify is designed to protect real estate agents and their brokers from being overwhelmed by unconfirmed leads who don’t want to hear from real estate agents or their preferred partners. If that last sentence is ambiguous, you may need a product like Verify.
CallAction is the sales automation and lead follow-up software that has been behind the scenes of many agent’s successes for years. Verify is a sister product, an offshoot solution that specifically addresses a grossly underappreciated risk to the real estate industry, an upcoming update to the long-standing TCPA (Telephone Consumer Protection Act) that gave rise to the Do Not Call List (DNC) . .
I wrote about the new rules in my 2025 trends article below, but the ultimate source (FCC) is here.
In summary, the Jan. 27 rule activation requires attorneys (real estate agents) to contact consumers if they use what is considered “regulated technology,” such as power dialers or automatic telephone dialing systems (ATDS). means that your express written consent is required. , or a mass texting system. Voicemails are dropped and AI voice calls are also counted.
To check whether each record on any type of bulk prospect list is registered to be contacted and to ensure that they are not registered in the Do Not Call registry must be thoroughly scrutinized. If so, if you call them, you could be facing hefty fines for each violation, and law firms that advertise collection methods are planning their advertising budgets. .
Make sure you are configured to do this. The software deploys a straightforward user experience to avoid the risk of users getting confused about its intent. Simply scan the uploaded list to determine if the DNC has a record and see if the person is associated with valid contact information.
This process is similar to a computer virus scan. After conducting an initial audit of at-risk records, begin a complete scan of targeted data. Many pie charts color code the percentage of DNC registrant records. They also check reassigned phone numbers, which can get you into trouble.
While many existing CRMs (perhaps all) work well for adding an email address or verifying a physical address, Verify is specialized for including the individual in the DNC and This will help you determine whether or not it is considered a risk. Take action if contacted.
The scan flags the appropriate records so you know what to do. The best way to do this is to write them an email and ask them if they would like to keep in touch. If yes, great! It’s called a warm lead. If no, this is still a good thing. Our database is now much cleaner, our email open rates are much higher, and we are less likely to be punched by our ISP for sending spam.
For now, Follow Up Boss users have the benefit of having CallAction integrated for some time, but I’ve heard that work is underway to extend those features to other systems. There is a simple workaround. The next step is to upload the returned .CSV file to your existing software.
I don’t often write about niche products like this, but there are some tools that have emerged to help agents represent buyers and to identify brokers who recommend paying buyer agents to sellers. As well as the pending January 27th update, industry highlights.
Also, CallAction has been at this for a long time and reliability is key. This is not some bullshit provider that aims to make huge amounts of money from real estate agents. The company has proven a long-standing commitment to improving the way the industry works, and Verify is another example of that.
