HISTORY COOKEVILLE, Tenn. — Saturday’s series finale at Tennessee Tech played out like a carbon copy of the opener, with Little Rock making half mistakes en route to a 3-1 victory at Eblen Center. The Trojans (14-10 overall, 9-2 OVC) were once again an efficient team and capitalized on that en route to victory by scores of 22-25, 25-15, 25-22, 25-23. I received it. Little Rock extended its winning streak to six, tying the most wins in a single season since 2021.
Jayla Fullerton totaled 14 kills, 11 digs and five blocks to lead Little Rock to the victory. The Trojans defeated a Tennessee team 6-0 in the Ohio Valley Conference, dominating UT Martin, Tennessee State University and Tennessee Tech University. Bella Cherry hit .370 en route to 11 kills and also added four blocks. Jaycee Kennedy (5) and Aranae Margarita (5) joined the party, with four players getting at least four blocks.
Dariana Valencia recorded a double-double with 22 assists and 14 goals, Andrea Roman added 14 goals and six assists and Kaylee Smith added five goals and 14 assists. Margarita once again had a solid all-around effort, hitting .375 with eight kills and three aces.
Little Rock hit .218 in the game, holding the Golden Eagles (16-6, 5-5) to a .177 batting average until the end. The Trojans had just 27 errors on the night, while Tennessee Tech had 50, including 29 on the offensive end. TTU lost 6-2 at home, with both losses coming at the hands of Little Rock.
The Trojans have won six straight games and will play three games against the OVC’s top opponents next week at the Jack Stevens Center. On Tuesday, Little Rock hosts SEMO (11-10, 8-1), which has won four straight and seven in conference play. Little Rock hosts Western Illinois (14-8, 8-3) on Friday and Saturday.
