Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles star Tracy Tutor and her team of 18 have left Douglas Elliman to join Compass, the company announced Tuesday.
Tutor boasts nearly 25 years of experience in the industry, and she and her team have generated more than $4.5 billion in sales in her career. She has been associated with Douglas Elliman since 2014.
The Tracy tutoring team expanded to Texas in 2022 and currently operates in Beverly Hills, Dallas, and Austin. The team currently has a publicly traded portfolio of nearly $550 million, according to a press release.

Tutor’s team, led by team CEO Cody Coffman, consistently ranked among the top five teams at Elliman in California. The team’s notable sales include the $64.5 million sale of a Brentwood property, the $25 million sale of a Pacific Palisades farmhouse, and the $23.25 million sale of a trophy midcentury property in Beverly Hills.
Tutor expanded into Texas about two years ago, building a 13-person team with operations in Dallas and Austin. The Texas team currently manages approximately $200 million in active listings. Brokerage firm Inman told Inman that Dallas agent Blair Brown, Douglas Elliman’s top agent in Texas, will continue to work with Elliman. Through the partnership with Compass, Tutor aims to expand into additional markets while strengthening its presence in California and Texas, according to a press statement.
“Tracy’s decision to join Compass is a testament to the strength of our platform and our ability to attract top talent in the industry,” Compass CEO and Founder Robert Refkin said in a statement. “Together, we will reimagine what is possible in the luxury real estate space.”
A Compass representative told Inman that Tutor’s move to Compass will not affect her future appearances on Million Dollar Listing LA. Her fellow MDLLA star Josh Flagg also transferred to Compass from Douglas Elliman in March 2024. Another prominent Beverly Hills agent, former Hilton & Hyland president David Kramer, recently switched affiliations to Compass.
In addition to her real estate endeavors, Tutor is the author of Fear is Just a Four-Letter Word, a guide to dealing with big egos and developing confidence.
