Tech AI at Georgia Tech has named Tim Brown interim director of professional education. He is also the new academic program director for AI, jointly appointed by Tech AI and Georgia Tech Professional Education (GTPE). Previously, he served as Managing Director of the Supply Chain and Logistics Institute at Georgia Tech for nearly a decade, where he focused on program expansion and partnership development.
In his new role, Mr. Brown will work closely with Lifelong Learning and the Tech AI College to develop innovative AI programs. He identifies industry needs and creates interdisciplinary academic services that serve a variety of learners, from K-12 students to executives. His initial focus will be on mid-career professionals looking to upskill or reskill with the technical skills essential to success in the AI field. We will also enhance existing programs, provide educational opportunities for businesses and organizations, and respond to current market demands.
Brown has more than 35 years of experience in professional education and supply chain optimization, including positions at IBM, Accenture, Chainalytics, Frito-Lay, and Tropicana. He has worked with executives from a variety of industries, advised them on supply chain management, and secured $81 million in funding for AI in manufacturing through the Georgia AIM Coalition.
