A Clemmons man has turned an expensive rodent problem into a successful business by inventing high-tech covers to protect cars and patio furniture. “Three years ago, I had a rodent problem in my car. It cost me $25,000 to fix in three different times.” Ken Huening, CEO of CoverSeal, learned from this experience how to better protect his car. He says he has invented a new kind of high-tech cover for. He calls it CoverSeal and it’s made of polyester with patented peripherals. “This has several positive effects, one of which is to prevent cover from being blown,” he said. “We tested it up to 45 miles per hour,” he added. CoverSeal can be found on Amazon and sells for over $300. Road and Track magazine listed it as one of the best car covers of 2024. Huening says his invention wasn’t just for the purpose of “the main problem was to prevent rodents from getting into barbecue grills. I love it,” he said. “Is it waterproof? That’s an interesting question, because people have been asking me that. What I’ve noticed with covers is that when they’re waterproof, moisture gets trapped under the cover,” he says. said. That can lead to mold, Huening says. An inventor? We hope that you too will become inventors. Because I hear there are a lot of good ideas out there. What happens is people let them die. They haven’t pursued the idea of making it tangible and it’s not an easy path,” he said. Road and Track cites CoverSeal’s strengths as rodent protection, high-quality materials, and availability in five sizes. As for the cons, the magazine says it’s expensive.
A Clemmons man has turned an expensive rodent problem into a successful business by inventing high-tech covers to protect cars and patio furniture.
“Three years ago, we had a rat problem in our car. It cost us $25,000 to fix with three months of downtime,” said Ken Huening, CEO of CoverSeal.
Huening says that experience inspired him to invent a new kind of high-tech cover to better protect his car.
He calls it CoverSeal. It is made of polyester with a patented perimeter weight that allows it to create even pressure around the perimeter.
“It does some good things. One of them is it keeps it from blowing over,” he said.
“You’re not chasing cover all over your neighborhood in a rainstorm. We’ve tested it up to 75 mph,” he added.
CoverSeal can be found on Amazon and sells for over $300.
Road and Track magazine listed this product as one of the best car covers of 2024.
Huening said his invention isn’t just for cars, pointing out that patio furniture and grills could also benefit.
“The main problem was keeping rodents out of the barbecue grill. Rodents love the barbecue after it’s done,” he said.
“Is it waterproof? That’s an interesting question, because people have been asking that. What I’ve noticed with the cover is that when the cover is waterproof, moisture gets trapped underneath the cover,” he said. Said.
Huening says that creates mold.
“Did you ever hope to become an inventor? You know, I hope you all hope to become an inventor, because I hear so much about good ideas. What happens is that people end up letting them die. They don’t pursue their ideas to see it turn into something tangible.” he said.
Road and Track cites the benefits of CoverSeal as its rodent protection, high-quality materials, and availability in five sizes.
As for the cons, he says the magazine is expensive.
