The last few days before vacation can be a lot of fun for teachers, or like the final laps of Mario Kart. As recess approaches, teachers and students are wrapping up the year with fun and laughter thanks to TikTok’s latest classroom trend, the “Guess the Voice” challenge. We introduce you to three teachers (Miss G., Mr Shackleton, and Miss Z.) who have put their skills to work on TikTok.
What is the “Guess Your Voice” challenge?
Basically, the challenge is to see if teachers can identify students by voice. This adorable game not only provides a light-hearted diversion, but also looks like a great game to demonstrate a strong connection between teachers and students.
How do I play “Guess the Voice”?
There are several steps required to play this game with your students.
First, sit in a chair facing away from all the students. Next, have students stand in a line behind you so they cannot see you. Ask students to say hello or a short phrase commonly used in the classroom. “Hello, Mr./Mr.” [Teacher’s Name]Questions like “Can I go to the bathroom?” or “My Chromebook broke down” are great starting points. Try to guess which student is speaking. (By the way, asking students to repeat is a legitimate request.)

Miss G’s students:
Miss G has beaten this challenge! She understood most of the students’ voices immediately and responded with confidence. Although some of her comments cheered for the students whose names weren’t immediately guessed (“Justice for Andrei!”), I think she did a great job.
Mr. Shackleton’s students:
Mr. Shaq had so much fun with his students! Watching this video will instantly take you back to your classroom days. Even after he makes a few mistakes, you can see how much the students are having fun. A user commented, “These kids love Mr. Shaq!”
Miss Z students:
Miss Z has the youngest group of students in our sample of Guess the Voice games, so get ready to tug at your heartstrings. These adorable young students are so excited when their teacher guesses their voice correctly. One user commented: “You know everything about your baby!” Yes, that’s right!
