STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Soroptimist International of Staten Island believes in investing in women’s education and career advancement and is once again offering cash grants to women in need to pay for education and training.
Women who work as the primary breadwinners in their families and are seeking financial assistance to continue their education or training can now apply for the Soroptimist Living the Dream: Education and Training Award for Women. Ta.
Applications are available online at https://www.soroptimistsi.org/live-your-dream. The application deadline is November 15th.
Soroptimist International of Staten Island will provide the award to the winner, who can then advance to the Soroptimist North Atlantic Regional level and receive up to an additional $5,000. The program culminates with $10,000 in prizes awarded to three finalists.
Winners can use their Live Your Dream Award to offset costs associated with higher education or efforts to obtain additional skills or training. This includes tuition, books, child care, car fare, and other education-related expenses.
Soroptimist, a 501(c)(3) organization that relies on charitable donations to support its programs, also promotes LiveYourDream.org, an online community that provides offline volunteer opportunities to support women and girls. Masu.

The Live Your Dream Award awards more than $2.8 million each year to female heads of households in need. Since the program’s inception in 1972, more than $35 million has helped tens of thousands of women realize their dreams of a better life for themselves and their families.
Richmond County Administrator Edwina Martin said a study conducted by the Fells Institute for Government, a research and consulting organization based at the University of Pennsylvania, confirmed the effectiveness and impact of the program.
This research also shows that it improves the quality of life of those taking it, building confidence, strengthening their right to self-determination, and in turn making them want to help others. According to Soroptimist International of Staten Island, supporting women in this way has a proven impact on leading to stronger communities, nations and the world.
