The renowned broker and CEO believes that only a few real estate companies are poised to grow in the coming years.
Ryan Serhant has built his career and brokerage on the power of social media. But last month at Inman Connect New York, we took a deep dive into how online content can turn into business.
“We have an internal production company called Studio that creates videos,” Serhant said on stage. “Everybody’s happy with what they see on the outside, right? Like Disney or Netflix, they see what’s on the outside. And they’re targeting an audience that we believe has a direct correlation to who the buyer is going to be. A lot of times it’s the kids. It’s educational. I mean, 13-year-old kids are saying to their parents, ‘Hey, I just saw this, go look at this house.'” And they’re selling the house to their parents for a high price. ”
This comment was just one of the many insights Serhant shared as he explained the secret to success in real estate. And it’s a recipe he believes will continue to pay dividends. In fact, he argued that his company and the giant brokerage firm Compass will be the only major players in the coming years.
“By 2030, there will only be two major real estate companies to watch,” Serhant said. “One will be Compass and one will be us. One will focus on assets as a platform and the other will focus on individuals as a platform.”
