Two of Compass’ leading teams, based in Seattle and Denver, have moved to other brokerages, according to separate announcements Wednesday. The teams will have a combined revenue of $270 million in 2025.
The New Year’s shuffle continues, this time with two major Compass teams based in Seattle and Denver moving through the ranks to new brokerages.
The Real Brokerage has acquired the NK Team, a team of 34 agents that RealTrends ranked as the highest-grossing large team in Seattle from 2021 to 2023 and the No. 4 mega team in 2024. The team has generated $1.4 billion in revenue since 2017, with annual revenue hovering around $230 million. As part of the move, the team will rebrand to McConnell Group.
Prior to joining Compass, team founder Sean McConnell was a strategic account executive at Zillow and spent two years as a broker at Keller Williams.

“The selection of a brokerage is a consequential decision, especially for a large team that has worked hard to develop a trusted reputation and build a business that will last,” McConnell said in a prepared statement. “We intended to find a platform where we could continue to grow while maintaining ownership of our brand, culture and long-term vision.”
“At Real, we can continue to operate under our established leadership and brand while leveraging a national platform with a strong culture, unparalleled technology and agent-centric infrastructure that not only supports us as a team, but also our next phase of growth,” he added.
Tamir Poleg, CEO of The Real Brokerage, said Mr. McConnell and his wife, Nicolette, who serves as the team’s managing broker and director of operations, have “built an exceptional organization” that is a perfect fit for The Real Network.
“Sean, Nicolette, and the entire McConnell Group have built a great organization rooted in systems, collaboration, and agent development,” Poleg said. “We are proud to welcome them to Real and look forward to supporting their continued development.”
Meanwhile, in Denver, the Sandoval team has moved to REMAX Advantage, the No. 1 REMAX team in the world, starting in 2021.
The Sandoval team has been affiliated with Compass since 2023, and its six agents generated approximately $50 million in sales last year. Team leaders Michael and Ashley Sandoval have over 20 years of combined real estate experience having worked for ERA, eXp and several other local brands.
“Michael and Ashley Sandoval are exactly the type of leaders we want to grow with. They are thoughtful, disciplined, and as committed to developing people as they are to producing,” Debra Beagle, Ashton Real Estate Group CEO and co-owner of REMAX Advantage, said in a prepared statement. “Their decision to partner with us speaks volumes about the power of collaboration, and we are excited to support their next chapter of growth.”
“Our mission of smart, intentional growth continues with our expansion into Denver and the addition of Michael and Ashley to our team,” added co-owner Gary Ashton.
