Realtor.com’s ChatGPT integration gives buyers access to affordability and neighborhood information. However, you must visit Realtor.com to view property information.
Four months after teasing a partnership with OpenAI, Realtor.com has debuted its ChatGPT integration.
Homebuyers can now get home-search advice, create an affordable budget, and explore neighborhood information and data on the ChatGPT app. When you’re ready to officially begin your home buying journey, you’ll be directed to the Realtor.com platform where you can search for properties, connect with local agents, and schedule tours.

“For 30 years, Realtor.com has led every major technology change in the way Americans find homes, while remaining true to our mission of connecting Americans with the professionals who can help them,” Damien Eales, CEO of Realtor.com, said in a written statement. “Today, AI represents the next transformational opportunity to simplify the journey home and provide consumers with more clarity and confidence.”
“The combined strengths of Realtor.com, REA Group and News Corp. bring together world-class technology and talent, global insight and deep industry partnerships, giving us a unique competitive advantage,” he added. “Using OpenAI, we can now meet homebuyers wherever they are and keep real estate professionals at the center of the experience.”
The partnership comes with guardrails to protect listing data and prohibit model training, the portal said, a callback to the firestorm that followed Zillow’s debut of ChatGPT integration in October. A partnership with Zillow allows homebuyers to search for properties within the ChatGPT app, raising concerns about Internet Data Exchange (IDX) licensing rules and data security.
“ChatGPT’s Realtor.com app is designed to increase visibility of their properties while putting agents and MLSs at the center of real estate transactions,” said Anna Marie Castiglioni, head of Realtor.com Next, in the announcement. “Realtor.com does not receive property data through IDX feeds. Instead, through our unique direct relationship with MLSs, we work in the best interests of homebuyers and sellers, partnering with MLSs to maintain accuracy and transparency across the industry.”
“The app simply previews property images and details and directs consumers to Realtor.com where they can connect with local professionals, schedule a tour and explore a full suite of advanced search tools,” she added.
This integration is a step in Realtor.com’s strategy to expand the search experience for consumers, including adding natural language search capabilities, offering satellite views of listings with FlyAround, and launching MLS-driven collaborative search options within the Realtor.com+ platform.
“It is our commitment to make Realtor.com ubiquitous everywhere consumers have conversations about real estate,” said Mickey Neuberger, chief consumer and marketing officer for Realtor.com, in a prepared statement. “We brought real estate listings to the internet, and now we’ve brought real estate listings to AI. As the most trusted site among real estate professionals, we think this is a win for buyers, agents, and the broader industry.”
