I don’t want to sound too paternal, but one thing to say is: Poor Elon Musk played a game he didn’t understand. “This is how victory feels,” I cried out with overexcitement at Trump’s inauguration event. He had donated more than $250 million to the Trump 2024 campaign. He inadvertently promised to cut $2 trillion, or a third, from federal spending, before he cut his cut promise to $1 trillion, and he achieved less than 20% of this final goal. His conspiracy theory never helps him.
The intense crash of Trump Musk’s relationship was predictable. (See Wall Street Journal, Wall Street Journal, June 4, 2025, and Trump Mask, “War of the Roses” on June 5, 2025.) Neither of the two men have been bullied. It’s not the first time Trump has become his original quasi-conference. Musk, like Trump, is likely to require medieval kinds of personal loyalty and signalling, but Neisher can infer decentralized power. They both think not from a perspective of freedom, but from a perspective of power. And both are more emotional than rations.
Musk is certainly a great foresight and entrepreneur, but he doesn’t mind getting or demanding support from the government. As we saw in the last election, I’m also telling a political entrepreneur, but his bad bet on Trump may plague him for a long time.
He opposed the deficit “Big Beautiful Building” and the trade war (so openly) opposed the trade war, but Musk certainly isn’t a liberter or a classic liberal. The classic liberal tradition entertains economic and philosophical theories of politics that exclude the views of Princess Masilde. That is, the standard of good government serves my central interest at the expense of others. At best, Musk’s political ideology appears to be a simple democracy based on the “will of people” that even lawyers do not oppose. You may need to read the structured libertarian discussion.
Our sub might have hoped that the mask would eventually discover the free ideal of freedom. If hope remains, it will probably be frustrating. Anyway, very few people are in their 50s (even in their 30s, John Maynard Keynes believed). I don’t think he’ll take the red pills. (See my post
The stronger the embedding of Leviathan, the more it is what Jasai’s Anthony states. It’s a game that forces sub-people to support useful clients. Musk posted himself to the right of the gap. He may now have fallen on the Oghel side. Trump wrote on his social media:
The easiest way to save money on your budget, billions, billions of dollars, is to end Elon’s government subsidies and contracts.
Musk’s billions will help him survive on the wrong side of his enemy and discriminatory state if only Leviathan does not reach his case seriously. Just as Stalin’s secret police chief, Lovelenty Belia, reported, “Show me a man, I will find a crime in you.” According to the Wall Street Journal, Steve Bannon “examines the immigration status of recommended doot masks.” According to the economist, Bannon hopes he will be stripped of American citizenship. The Oher threat has been expressed. Musk may want to have a judge blocking “people’s will” against him.
If there is a chicken between the king and the courtier, it will almost certainly be the latter. Until then, it is not impossible to make the target a confused surprise and reversal. Trump has many losses, so it’s positive that two warriors hatch war, at least publicly or for a while. As William Riker points out, democratic choices “anything can happen” as inadequately constrained by institutions.
