PORT CLINTON, Ohio — The Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office is working with other local law enforcement agencies to host a community forum to answer questions from people concerned about immigration in the county.
Sheriff Steve Levertik said he and his deputies have received multiple complaints from citizens regarding this matter, but they don’t have all the answers.
The forum is the best way to get your questions answered by agencies that work on immigration issues every day.
“Then we will be able to ask questions of the people who have the answers. Local law enforcement, we have nothing to do with immigration and we have no involvement in the treatment of illegal immigrants or immigrants. “We haven’t,” Levertik said. Whether it’s a visa or other means. ”
Revorcik said he expects the event to draw close to 300 people.
He also said the event was never intended to be a political forum, but rather to get answers for the people.
The event is scheduled for Monday night at 6:30 p.m. at the Liberty Aviation Building on East State Road in Port Clinton. The Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office says the public is encouraged to participate in the forum.
