A secluded property with a 25-acre fishing lake in Magnolia’s High Meadow Ranch community was the highest priced home sale in the Houston area in September, according to the Houston Association of Realtors.
The home, known as Emerald Lake Estates, is located at 37307 Diamond Oaks Drive and sits on 225 acres about 40 miles northwest of downtown Houston. There is a 9-acre Japanese garden, 7 acres of botanical gardens, 10 islands, and mature trees and rhododendrons are planted throughout the property.
“It’s a rare property in the middle of a neighborhood,” said Lisa Carswell of Carswell Real Estate, which sold the home in conjunction with Concierge Auctions. It attracted two bidders and exceeded the reserve price of $7.49 million, but was significantly lower than its previous list price of $19.8 million in June.
Houston’s other most expensive homes spanned a variety of eras and locations, from The Woodlands to River Oaks to Memorial to Tanglewood.
