LBH Alumni Association President Anna McKaiston (Bass ’06) invites alumni to interact with students before introducing Cory Sims, Bass ’11, recipient of the 2024 Norman R. Baker Distinguished Alumni Award. We have outlined the methods available to you. Mr. Sims, a managing member and principal investment advisor at Sims Investment Management, has numerous commitments to Lindner University and the University of California, and is a past president of the Lindner Alumni Association.
Sims established the Sims Family Scholarship Fund in 2017 to support LBH students. As a unique and generous way to celebrate a special day, Sims asks friends and family to donate to the Sims Family Scholarship Fund instead of buying birthday or Christmas presents. With this initiative, Sims will support future business problem solvers for years to come.
“There’s a lot of discussion these days about why we need universities. But what you can’t get with technology or AI is human connections. Friendships and bonds. Relationships with your professors. It’s something we have to continue to pour into this institution,” Sims said. “I also strongly believe in Mr. Lindner’s words that this city grows into this university because employers need quality talent to hire. That’s why at the University of California and the Lindner School of Business, we The work we are doing is very important.”
