Las Vegas Realtors, a trade association serving about 16,000 agents, has endured a tumultuous 2024 marked by controversy, upheaval and at least one physical altercation, and is uncertain about the association’s future. His reputation came under intense scrutiny.
But the confusion is not over. The organization announced last week that outgoing chairwoman Meri Perry and 2024 chair-elect Joshua Campa have resigned from the board of directors and all committees, effective immediately.
In response, 2025 President-elect George Kypreos will release a video addressing concerns for the association, as well as a series of videos to explain the change in leadership and update members. I also promised. “The first step is to be honest about our failures, accept responsibility, and commit to doing better, no matter the cost,” he said in a video first uploaded Friday. .
Members said the turmoil stems from turmoil in 2024 for the trade group, which has been plagued by allegations of election fraud, breaches of confidentiality, suspensions, resignations and public scandals.
Looking back on 2024, Kypreos admitted, “Instead of emphasizing ethics and transparency, we realized that we were preoccupied with egos and power plays.”

“We’ve become a sideshow,” he added. “I’m permanently shutting down entertainment. Neon lights, cheap tricks, endless distractions.”
Perry has not publicly commented on his resignation, but Campa released a statement addressing the speculation.
After five years of volunteering with LVR and just three days into his term as president, Campa resigned, citing a toxic environment and personal attacks.
“Individuals with their own agendas and a desire to gain power over the organization take every opportunity to create narratives, stir up non-existent controversy, and publish defamatory articles,” Campa said. They even fed and paid the media for this.”

He also revealed that he faced threats, attempted intimidation, and ostracism because of his sexual orientation. In a Facebook post, Campa cited mental and physical health issues and the strain on his family as the main reasons for his resignation.
Despite his experience, he expressed support for Kypreos, describing him as a “solid, neutral leader” who deserves grace and support.
Campa noted that the president’s position requires the support of 15 board members and does not require unilateral power.
Kypreos outlined his recovery plan in the video, which includes overhauling the electoral process, re-enforcing ethical standards, recognizing the contribution of volunteers while defining boundaries, and choosing not to prioritize popularity when appointing leaders. The guidelines also include prioritizing qualifications.
Origin of controversy
The dispute over the organization began in March at a broker forum, where a physical altercation broke out between two real estate agents, the Las Vegas Review-Journal reported.
According to the Review-Journal, anonymous sources say the dispute stemmed from Simply Vegas Real Estate agent Eric Mendoza being repeatedly denied opportunities to discuss representation in the lawsuit. said.
The complaint alleges that the National Association of Realtors, Las Vegas Realtors and other brokers conspired to artificially inflate commissions. Another broker was charged in Mendoza, and police eventually got involved.
Tensions escalated during the group’s 2025 executive and director elections, with allegations of election interference emerging, particularly between vice presidential candidates Brittney Gaitan and Stephanie Grant, the Daily Mail reported.
The emails revealed concerns about interference from multiple leaders, including LVR CEO Wendy DiVecchio. Mr. DiVecchio allegedly accessed election software during voting and encouraged Mr. Perry and Mr. Campa to rally support for Gaitan rather than Grant.
As a result, Mr. DiVecchio was suspended for 30 days, and a group of board members resigned in protest.
In August, more than 50 real estate agents protested at LVR headquarters, demanding transparency and an independent investigation. A formal complaint was filed with Nevada Attorney General Aaron Ford in November, calling for further investigation into leadership and election fraud.
Inman has contacted Meri Perry and Las Vegas Realtors for comment.
