Grambling State University has appointed Quanesia Hames, MBA, CPA, interim vice president for finance, effective November 1, 2024. Currently serving as Senior Vice President for Finance, she has more than 20 years of experience in finance, accounting, and operational leadership. Across multiple industries.
Mr. Hammes has held key leadership roles, including Controller at the University of Maryland College of Art (MICA), where he oversaw accounting and financial operations, and Senior Risk Advisory Consultant at Ernst & Young LLP.
Her extensive career also includes roles as a senior IT compliance analyst at Navient and a risk management consultant at Ingalls Information Security. Hamms owns QTArmstrong, CPA, LLC, which provides bookkeeping, certification, and advisory services to small and medium-sized businesses, particularly in the nonprofit sector.
In addition to her professional accomplishments, Ms. Hammes is passionate about education. She was a full-time accounting professor at Grambling State University and currently teaches as an adjunct professor at both Grambling State University and Tarleton State University, mentoring future accounting professionals. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and CIS from Grambling State University, an MBA in Accounting from Indiana Wesleyan University, and is currently pursuing a Doctorate of Business Administration (DBA) from the University of Dallas.
Hams is active in professional organizations such as the International Association of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the Louisiana Society of Certified Public Accountants (LCPA), and the National Association of Black Accountants (NABA), which reflects her dedication to community and professional service. It reflects that attitude. .
“I am humbled and excited to assume the role of Interim Vice President for Finance at Grambling State University,” Hams said. “Dr. Edwin Littorff has made meaningful contributions during his tenure, and I am committed to ensuring a seamless transition while continuing to advance the financial stability and strategic growth of our institution. As a proud Grambling alumnus, this opportunity has personal significance for me and I look forward to working closely with the community to achieve our shared goals.”
Mr. Hammes will succeed Dr. Edwin Rittoff, who will transition into a new role as vice president for finance at the University of New Orleans. Dr. Rittoff will work closely with Hams until the end of the year to facilitate a full handover of financial responsibility.
