Propublica announced Thursday that Gus Garcia-Roberts has been hired as a national reporter.
Garcia Roberts has come to Propoblica from the Washington Post to publish an investigation into the overdose death of Los Angeles Angels pitcher Tyler Skagg. Allegations of sexual abuse against Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Trevor Bauer and Major League Baseball’s secret system are a secret system for investigating domestic abuse and sexual assault. Before joining Post, Garcia Roberts worked with the research team on Newsday, Los Angeles Times and USA Today. On Newsday, he was part of a team that was the finalist of the Pulitzer Award Public Service Award for Hidden Police’s fraud series. He is the author of “Jimmy the King: The Reign of Murder, Evil, and the Dirty Cop” and is co-author of “Blood Sports: Alex Rodriguez, Biogenesis, and the quest to end the steroid era of baseball.”
