What is Earth Day?
Earth Day is a day of awareness, education and celebration of the Earth and its environment. The goal is to encourage people to take action. The first Earth Day was a national day of demonstrations that led to the formation of the Environmental Protection Agency. Since then, Earth Day has also strengthened its support for laws like the Clean Air Act. On Earth Day, people all over the world act like they are participating in advocacy events, planting trees, cleaning up water, and volunteering to save money.
