Inman said in a Jan. 16 statement that home search portal and real estate services company Fly Homes has released a new virtual home customization feature for consumers called “Reimagine.”
This new feature allows aspiring buyers to virtually redesign the home of their choice using a variety of interior design styles and home themes. The software uses photos you’ve uploaded or taken directly from the Flyhomes search experience to repaint walls, rearrange furniture, edit the layout of a room, and match the overall color tone to the buyer’s taste. can be adjusted.
Reimagine provides viewers with a before and after look, feedback options, and the ability to remove or replace single items in a room. Applicable styles include industrial, minimalist, modern, rustic farmhouse, Scandinavian, and even Hamptons house. And once you’ve decided on a design, you can “lock” your redesign so you can download and share it.
Virtual staging has become a popular option in recent years, but is often the province of standalone vendors. The list is long and includes companies like Virtual Staging AI, BoxBrownie, HomeKynd, VSH Media, Bella Staging, Matterport, Asterroom, and Inside Maps.
“We created this to help people visualize spaces more effectively. It’s always valuable to look at different layouts, furniture placement, and design styles before making a decision.” Flyhomes CTO Raks Srini said in a statement. “This is especially helpful for people who don’t have a background in architecture or interior design, or who find spatial concepts difficult.”
In summer 2024, Flyhomes adjusted its business model by expanding to what it calls “AI Home Search,” a feature that allows input of natural language parameters and continuous chat about the benefits of a home. The company made this move after acquiring assets from rental-to-buy service ZeroDown.
In June, Fly Homes executives announced that then-pending changes to how real estate agents were compensated, including new rules requiring buyer’s agents to sign contracts with prospective clients before showing them homes. , said it should help accelerate the adoption of Flyhomes AI to extract data. Get answers to questions about your home and its surroundings from over 40 sources.
In 2016, the company launched a low-cost, full-service model with paid agents and technology advances. In 2021, this approach led to a $150 million Series C venture capital round led by Norwest Venture Partners and Battery Ventures. Since then, we’ve had to reduce our workforce and adjust how we deliver our products.
