ALBEMARLE COUNTY, Va. (CBS19 News) — Students and their families are invited to participate in a variety of educational activities at James Monroe Highlands.
Home Educators Day will be held at the Presidential Palace on November 4th.
This event is open to all public, private, and home-study students and their families who are welcome to explore the buildings and exhibit spaces.
Participants can also try their hand at trail journaling, learn about historical handwriting, try on period costumes, play historical yard games, and work and spin wool.
“We are pleased to open Home Educator Day to all students, families, and educators,” said Sarah Bonharper, Highland Executive Director. “We have carefully selected a robust schedule of fun and educational activities for all students, regardless of public, private, or homeschool setting.”
Admission is $10 for both participants and adult chaperones. Children ages 4 and under and Monroe Farm Friends are admitted free.
