Oriol brings over 15 years of experience in luxury brand strategy and brokerage platform development to this role.
Luxury goods brokerage firm Douglas Elliman has appointed Alije Akhtar Oriol as chief of staff to President and CEO Michael S. Leibowitz, it was announced Tuesday.
Oriole will work directly with Mr. Leibowitz and Mr. Elliman’s senior management teams to develop strategic initiatives and organizational alignment. Her background spans digital media, global technology, and residential real estate, with a particular focus on the luxury segment.
“Douglas Elliman’s corporate transformation is here to stay, and I wanted someone by my side who understands branding partnerships, luxury distributors and consumers, and the infrastructure needed to serve them at the highest level,” Leibowitz said.
“I have spent my career working at the intersection of luxury consumers, the advisors who serve them, and the platforms that enable that work,” Oriol said. “The opportunity to bring that experience to work alongside Michael and the executive team is incredibly energizing for me. This is the right brand, the right leader, and the right moment.”
Most recently, Oriol founded Assemblage, a consulting practice focused on growth strategy and platform development for brokerage firms. Prior to that, he spent more than six years at Google advising Fortune 500 consumer brands and then led the growth of Compass’ Florida region.
The hire is the latest in a series of senior appointments at Elliman, which also recently added a chief strategy officer, chief technology officer and chief marketing officer.
