When Redfin surveyed nearly 50 designers about interior design trends in 2025 and what we have left behind, the majority sought a revival of comfort, curves and overall playfulness in this year’s aesthetic. With its focus on the warmth of 2025, it makes sense for designers and homeowners to start decorating with brass. Redfin spoke to designers and renovators about the best tips for implementing brass, so take a look.
Sustainable and flexible design of brass
Dan Bocchio of Albany-based Bocaine Design said, “Brass is a sustainable, recyclable material that adds warmth and refinement to any space. Its durability and versatility makes it a timeless choice for both modern and classic interior design while supporting environmentally friendly practices.”
This metal looks similar to homes with lighting fixtures, furniture legs and cabinet knobs, providing flexibility in how this metallic finish is built in, even if you want to maintain some of the other metallic fixtures. Plus, metal mixing is trending this year, so don’t worry if you equip your home with other metals.
With the decline of grey metallic, Forest Rose, Kingdom First Motherhood lifestyle bloggers spoke about the versatility of brass, saying, “Mixing metal is now a completely fair game in the kitchen. Try pairing a warm brass cabinet with a matte black faucet.
Brass also demonstrates design styles and flexible finishes that span multiple eras, from baroque to brutal. “Over time, Brass develops patina that can provide unique characters for fixtures,” said Erica Shepard, NCIDQ and IIDA of IIDA, owner and principal designer of Shepard Design Studio.

Get a traditional refresh

I use modern wallpapers to create warmth, but convey new lattices to our spaces. I pair rich forest, velvet and floral patterns with floral patterns for a charming atmosphere whispering the past.”
Art Deco finds metal finish

Her suggestion for decorating it with brass? “A pair of brass or antique brass pairs in deep colors of green, blue or burnt orange – create a gorgeous mid-century modern aesthetic. Try adding brass knobs to dark wooden furniture to create gorgeous contrast and timeless styles. Hardware is the perfect way to add modest luxury to your interior.”

Decorating with brass makes it more comfortable
“Even the smallest spaces can be given a warm and refined atmosphere with brass. We add a brass mirror surrounded by brass candlesticks to the basement stairwell landing, serving as an introduction to the cozy underground living area you are about to enter.

Yes, decorating with brass is a trend, but if you like enough aesthetics to install it in your home, why not add a finish to your next renovation project? For example, if you’re revamping your bathroom, the legs of the brass tub look stunning against the dark wall/white tub combo. In the kitchen, brass cabinets pull and knobs contrast with white surfaces, updating the aesthetics of the now outdated kitchen.
Experts seem to agree. Donna, from Montierro’s modern origin, said, “Brass is once again in fashion with new deconquests, satin and aging finishes, depicting a vintage feel that is beautifully mixed with existing metals in chrome, bronze and even nickel finishes.”
She concludes. “I’ve crushed all the brass wall mirrors, cabinet knobs, wire shelves, plumbing fixtures, wall sconces and even animal figurines. Yesterday’s 1980s shiny brass furniture legs are fading as today’s fresh brass accessories, furniture, hardware and fixtures bring warmth and charming characters.

A unique place to decorate with brass around the house
Brass looks beautiful as a home fixture, but you don’t need to permanently install it in your home to benefit from its elegant appearance. It fits just as small accents throughout the house.
According to Rachel on the Antique Journey, decorating with brass tells a story as old as it was in the ages, but “brass decorations make such a revival due to the beauty of nature that exudes. Whether it is a brass item, candle, lighting fixture or decorative object, you will enjoy the warmth. Talk.”
“For a simple table center or decorative vignette, try compiling various brass objects into trays or platters,” suggests Rachel. “To raise visual interest, change the height of the items used, such as tall candlesticks on the back, bowls and plates with lids in the middle, and roll them up with small brass figurines such as birds, bunnies, quail, and kashishi. They are used as tables placed on the shelf or as entrance displays.”
