The former Compass head of engineering will be responsible for deploying Compass technology across all of the holding company’s recently acquired brands.
Compass International Holdings, the holding company that currently owns all Anywhere brands, announced Friday that it has promoted Shay Artzi to its new chief technology officer.
Previously, Artzi served as Head of Engineering at Compass, where he helped launch both Compass AI and Compass One, tools created to help the company’s agents communicate with customers and streamline their operations. Artzi joined Compass in 2021 and previously held leadership roles at IBM and Amazon.
The announcement was made Friday morning by Compass International Holdings CEO Robert Refkin in a social media post.
“We are confident that Mr. Hsieh is the right leader to provide the technology that will enable our real estate professionals to grow their businesses and better serve their clients,” Mr. Refkin said in a press statement. “His vision is focused on building tools that improve the entire community of real estate professionals, and we will continue to build technology that helps agents save time, grow their business, and better serve their clients.”
As Chief Technology Officer, Artzi will have key responsibility for deploying Compass’ technology platform across all Compass International Holdings brands, including @properties Christie’s International Real Estate and Anywhere brands, including Coldwell Banker Realty, Sotheby’s International Realty and Corcoran Group. In total, the platform serves over 340,000 agents and affiliate owners.
“Our goal is to automate the busy work so agents can focus on what they do best: building relationships and providing human expertise that technology cannot replace,” Artzi said in a statement. “In doing so, we are helping them grow their businesses more effectively than ever before.”
Artzi holds a Ph.D. in computer science from MIT.
