Mr. Navab began his career at Compass in October 2018 as Mr. Refkin’s chief of staff and most recently served as president of the brokerage firm. Prior to Compass, he worked at Urban Systems, Enjoy Technology, Box, and McKinsey & Company, according to his LinkedIn profile. Like Levkin, she earned her bachelor’s degree from Columbia University. She earned her MBA from Harvard Business School in 2013.
As president of the brokerage firm, Mr. Navab oversaw hundreds of Compass offices and approximately 40,000 agents. In that role, she was responsible for managing the company’s P&L and driving revenue growth through adoption of Compass’ platform, agent retention, and use of ancillary services.
Mr. Navab also played a key role in Compass’ mergers and acquisitions, leading the company’s business integration across several markets, including the combination of @properties Christie’s International Real Estate and Anywhere Real Estate.
News of Navab’s promotion comes about a month after Compass completed its $1.6 billion merger with Anywhere.

Inman also reported last week that Anywhere’s former CEO Ryan Schneider quietly left the company “in accordance with the terms of the merger agreement” upon completion of the transaction. Similarly, former Anywhere Chief Technology Officer Rudy Wolfs has also left the company. At the time, Compass International Holdings told Inman that further announcements regarding updates to the company’s leadership would be made soon.
“Compass was founded to help real estate professionals succeed and realize their entrepreneurial potential,” Levkin said in an emailed statement to Inman. “Neda understands that better than anyone. She is a proven and thoughtful leader who comes to see Compass real estate professionals every day. I will continue to work closely with Neda to advocate for agents and their clients, but her role will continue to be solely focused on helping Compass agents succeed.”

“Compass real estate professionals are some of the most talented and dedicated agents in the industry, and it has been the privilege of my career to build my career with them,” Navab said in a statement. I’ve listened, and my determination to make it happen is stronger than ever. As president, I will continue to improve the experience for real estate professionals and their clients while working tirelessly to protect what’s special about Compass.”
Compass officials said Refkin will remain highly engaged with the brokerage firm and its agents as he continues to transition into his role as head of Compass International Holdings.
As President, Mr. Navab will lead Compass’ brokerage strategy, operations and agent experience while maintaining Compass’ unique culture.
Following Levkin’s LinkedIn post, many industry insiders congratulated him in the comments section.
“Neda Navab, well deserved! Congratulations,” wrote Sue Janakorn, previously president and CEO of Anywhere Brands and currently group CEO of Compass International Holdings.
“Congratulations, Neda Navab,” said Jason Wilson, senior managing director and broker of record for Compass’ Westchester County and Connecticut operations.
Similarly, Helen Weisberg, a member of Compass’ communications team, wrote, “Congratulations to Neda Navab! I can’t think of a better leader to move Compass forward! #thisisCompass.”
