The owner of an iconic Breaking Bad house is planning to part ways with the property after getting fed up with fans dropping by uninvited. The New York Post reported Saturday that the mansion in Albuquerque, New Mexico, is currently on the market for $4 million.
This ranch-style mansion was famously depicted as the home of Bryan Cranston’s character Walter White. His wife Skylar is played by Anna Gunn. R.J. Mitte plays his son Walter White Jr. The television series aired from 2008 to 2013 and spawned acclaimed sequels such as “Better Call Saul.”

Current homeowner Joan Quintana was living in the home with her family when filming began. She told KOB at the time that she was excited about the production, calling it a “once-in-a-lifetime thing” that would allow her and her family to witness “the magic of Hollywood.”
But as the years went by, its appeal faded. What started as a novelty to take pictures with fans who came to see the Breaking Bad home ended up being overwhelming.
“We drive an average of 300 cars a day,” Quintana explained to KOB.
The situation worsened when a package arrived in the early morning addressed to “Walter White” and the family called in the bomb squad. Fans also started re-enacting memorable moments from the show, such as the infamous pizza toss from season 3, episode 2, “Caballo sin Nombre,” by throwing a pizza onto the garage roof.
Breaking Bad creator Vince Gilligan defended Quintana on his Better Call Saul podcast in 2022, imploring fans to be more respectful.
“She’s the sweetest woman in the world. If you’re making her nervous, you’re doing something seriously wrong,” he said.
After nearly 52 years in the house, Quintana is ready to move on.
“We’re only going to walk away with memories,” she said. “It’s time to move on. It’s over.”
The home is currently available for purchase for $4 million.
According to IMDb, Breaking Bad won 16 Primetime Emmy Awards, including Outstanding Drama Series in 2013 and 2014. In addition to the Emmy Award, the series won two Peabody Awards in 2009 and 2014. Overall, the show was nominated for 269 awards and won 169 awards.
